This week ARA Sunshine Coast Pro Racing rider Alex Martin-Wallace will join some of the country’s best cyclists to battle it out at the Track National Championships as part of the Brisbane Cycling Festival.
Over the past three years we’ve been proudly supporting the Australian Cycling Academy and their riders including Alex on their professional racing journey.
A promising young athlete Alex has also been selected in the Cycling Australia Track Identification Program targeting the 2024 Olympics.
After falling in love with cycling at a young age she hasn’t looked back.
Alex is now one of seven females on the ARA Pro Racing Sunshine Coast team with an impressive number of achievements in her professional career already including a Junior World Championship medal.
When she’s not out racing she’s working hard to complete her Engineering degree at the University of the Sunshine Coast with the support of the Australian Cycling Academy, whose main focus is to create a better future for cyclists both on and off the bike.
The academy is founded by former professional cyclists Ben Kersten and Matt Wilson who are committed to helping young, developing cyclists to reach their full potential so that they can lay the foundations for personal success and life balance throughout their sporting career.
Athletes have the unique opportunity to live, learn and ride which ultimately creates better outcomes for these young riders, and a brighter future for the sport.
As a family owned business, we place a great emphasis on career and development opportunities for young people which is why we partner with the Australian Cycling Academy.
Best of luck to Alex and all the riders competing this week.
