Restoring a D11T Dozer at Our Nambour Workshop

A Complete Overhaul of a D11T Dozer

At MacKellar Group, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional service, and our latest project at the Nambour workshop is no exception. Our team recently took on the challenge of restoring a D11T dozer brought in from New South Wales. Over several weeks, the dozer was completely stripped down to its bare chassis, and each component was meticulously inspected and restored to its original factory specifications.

The restoration process began with a thorough non-destructive testing (NDT) for cracks, followed by ultrasonic every pin. Every major component, from the engine to the final drives, was rebuilt in-house using our state-of-the-art facilities. The new track press at our Nambour facility enabled us to efficiently dismantle and reassemble the tracks, while our cylinder bench ensured that even the largest hydraulic cylinders were serviced to the highest standards. And let’s not forget our latest technological addition – the laser, which efficiently cleaned up all smaller components before they were painted and fitted back into the machine.

One of the key benefits of conducting this work in-house is cost savings. By restoring rather than replacing, our client saved around 40% of what a brand-new dozer would cost. This significant reduction was achieved without compromising quality; we followed all OEM procedures to ensure every part met factory standards.

This project showcased the capabilities of our Nambour facility and underscored the value we provide by keeping everything under one roof – quality, efficiency, and cost savings.
